The Art of Playfulness
I found a new boyfriend. His name is David. Ok, he’s not really my boyfriend but he is another kindred spirit fascinated with the art of playfulness.
David can’t be my boyfriend anyway.
First off, he’s married. Second, he’s still very married and third, I don’t even know what he looks like (that’s not going to work).
While researching at Google for Giggle On! (say that 3 times fast), I found David’s site, BePlayful.org. Eureka baby!
Welcome to my email
My initial reaction to Be Playful is evidenced in the email I sent to David minutes after perusing the site. (Welcome to the inner world of a blogger. Welcome to my email.)

David:
It is late in the USA and I am, as they say here, “dog-tired”.
Do you say dog tired in the UK?
My eyes literally bugged out of my sleepy brunette head when I found your site BePlayful.org. I even smiled with giggly gleefulness upon my discovery. This is no easy task when the pups of slumber come creeping up on the eyelids.
We, my friend, are kindred spirits. Some friends call me Giggsley, Lady Giggleton (to stuffy a name for me) or Giggles. I’m not that funny but I am on a crusade to encourage playfulness and laughter.
I dream of turning my life’s mantra: Don’t Give Up! Giggle On! into a transformational joy-movement hell-bent on increasing world laughter.
Ha-ha & ha!
Your post The A-Z of Playfulness makes my heart sing! Sing. Tra-la-la-la-la & la la!
Simply…you rock playfulness. ROCK IT! *laughing*
Christa
Do you like to play?
Who doesn’t?
Who do you know that actually has the chutzpah to say “I hate play. I hate laughing. Smiling sucks!” WHO would say that?

Definitions of Playfulness, A-Z
If the teenie tiny morsel size list below makes your mouth curl up at the edges or makes your heart happy in any way, shape or don’t-make-me-say-it…form, please proceed immediately to David’s blog and read the full length version of the A-Z of Playfulness.
DAVID ROCKS PLAYFULNESS!
His site makes me feel like a “Happy Girl”
- bubbles, vb. ability to float carefree through the world
- wonder, vb. a sense of awe at the beauty of each human being and the world we live in
- sparkles, n. those little bits of magic that make life special. Noticed and given away by exceptional people
- clown, vb. making sensible look silly; turning foolishness to wisdom
- joy, n. the emotion of play
and one of my favorites….
- laughter, n. the noise of a person fully alive
I’m headed over to check out, in greater detail, some of David’s other posts: How to be an Everyday Clown and Catalysts of Creativity.
